Component Distributors, Inc. (CDI) is diligently monitoring the impact of the COVID-19 virus on our supply chain and our customers.
Approximately a dozen suppliers have been impacted by the COVID-19 virus in some way, ranging from a complete shut-down to small delays in shipments. As we receive information (confirmation dates, confirmed delays, etc.) regarding specific parts that you may have on order with CDI, we will communicate that information to you as quickly as possible.
CDI has taken steps to cooperate with “social distancing” measures while keeping our warehouse open for business. These steps include the elimination of travel, a blanket approval to work remotely for all except warehouse employees. CDI has also cross-trained employees into the warehouse shipping and receiving functions to provide back-ups to those key personnel. Our sales and asset management teams already work from remote/home offices, so there will be no change to the high level of customer and supplier service that CDI has always provided.
CDI has several critical military and medical device customers. We plan to remain in business and operational through any federal, state, or local restrictions on business or movement. Essentially, as long as the freight carriers will provide service and we have customers that need shipments, we will remain open for business.
