Traditional location positioning utilizes latitude and longitudinal coordinates produced by the GPS in a smartphone or other portable device. While this is useful with traditional navigation, how do you get real-time navigation or positioning when the location is on the 10th floor of a 30 floor high-rise?

SmartPressure barometric pressure sensors can differentiate the height of a single stair step. This provides precise Z-Axis location information enabling you to know exactly where you are in relative space, when combined with traditional GPS.

NEXTNAV Certified

NextNav announced that the ICP-10111 is the first to achieve NextNav Certified status. The performance data produced by the NextNav Certified process provides independently verified data on sensor accuracy and gives hardware manufacturers guidelines for optimal integration.

Over a six-week period, the ICP-10111 was subjected to a rigorous testing regimen jointly designed by InvenSense and NextNav engineers. Using real-world data sets from NextNav’s nationwide network of altitude stations, sensor components were tested against a variety of operational scenarios.

It can measure pressure differences with an accuracy of ±1 Pa, an accuracy enabling altitude measurement differentials as small as 5 cm, less than the height of a single stair step.

The platform designed around Microchip G55 MCU can be used by developers for rapid evaluation and development of ICP-10111 based solutions.

The DK-10111 includes an on-board Embedded Debugger so external tools are not required to program or debug the G55 MCU.

Includes the necessary software, InvenSense MotionLink, a GUI based development tool and embedded Motion Drivers for ICP-10111.
