Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the entire semiconductor industry is now facing challenges from inflation, raw material unavailability, wafer supply scarcity, and historically high demand, resulting in shortages across the industry.
Lead time for the motion sensors from TDK InvenSense are at a record 52-week lead time. TDK InvenSense has recognized these issues further exuberate customers with new projects where proof of concept is required, or application under alpha or beta builds are being put on hold.
To support these types of customer requirements Component Distributors is stocking part numbers ICM-42670-P and ICM-42688-P and limiting the number of parts purchased to 100 pcs per customer.
Additionally, all contract manufactures will be asked to share the end customer requiring motion sensors. This also includes offshore CM and ODM’s, but these requests should go through the local TDK InvenSense contact.
In the coming weeks other products will be added to this list of inventoried products.
